Dear SAZOREA community, and everyone considering entrepreneurship,
Entrepreneurship is an adventure that combines excitement, challenges, and a great deal of learning. Regardless of your industry or the size of your business, there are lessons that are universal and can help you move forward with greater confidence and purpose.
From my experience building SAZOREA, I have learned that success is not born from luck, but from a combination of choices, hard work, and constant reflection. That is why I want to share five essential lessons for anyone who is serious about becoming an entrepreneur.
1. Know your purpose — and keep it alive
First and foremost, it is essential to understand why you want to become an entrepreneur. Your purpose is the fuel that will keep you going through difficult moments and times of doubt. It is the compass that guides every decision you make, from creating your product to the way you communicate with your audience.
At SAZOREA, our purpose is to create cosmetics that respect the skin, the planet, and people — a commitment that guides us from the very first idea to the final packaging.
2. Learn to listen — to your customers, your partners, and yourself
Entrepreneurship is not just about speaking; it is also about listening. Listening to your audience, understanding their real needs, welcoming feedback — even when it is difficult to hear — and knowing when to adjust your path.
But it goes beyond that: it also means listening to your own feelings, limitations, and lessons along the way.
Open dialogue is what builds genuine connections and allows your brand to grow with authenticity.
3. Be flexible and accept mistakes as part of the process
The journey is rarely linear. Plans change, unexpected challenges arise and, yes, you will make mistakes. What matters is approaching those moments with flexibility, learning from every setback and using those lessons to refine your strategy.
Making a mistake is not failing; it is an opportunity to grow. The resilience to get back up and keep moving forward is what separates those who stop along the way from those who continue.
4. Invest in continuous learning
The business world is constantly changing — and the beauty industry, for example, is dynamic and full of new developments. That is why investing in knowledge is never a waste.
Be open to learning new skills, whether in marketing, management, production, or customer service. Continuous learning broadens your perspective, strengthens your ability to innovate, and helps you stand out.
5. Take care of your mental and emotional wellbeing
Entrepreneurship is intense. It requires energy, commitment, and dedication — but never at the expense of your wellbeing.
Taking care of your mental and emotional health is essential to making conscious decisions, maintaining your creativity, and preserving your passion for what you do.
Make time to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and remember that balance is also part of success.
To conclude…
Entrepreneurship is a journey of courage, learning, and transformation. Every step, every challenge, and every achievement is part of a bigger process — the process of building something meaningful.
Whether you are just starting out or already well on your journey, I hope these lessons inspire you to move forward with purpose, openness, flexibility, a willingness to learn, and the commitment to take care of yourself.
We are in this journey together.
With love,
Catarina
